Quartzite Kitchen Countertops
Quartzite Kitchen Countertops are formed when pure quartz sandstone is exposed to natural heating and pressure creating a hard, non-foliated metamorphic stone. Pure quartzite is usually white to grey, though quartzite often occurs in various shades of pink and red due to varying amounts of iron oxide. Yellow, green, blue and orange can also occur when other minerals are present.
Why Choose Quartzite Kitchen Countertops?
Quartzite is a stunning natural stone that often gets confused with marble because of its veining and colors. The primary difference is its durability. It’s actually harder than glass and will not be scratched by a knife blade and is heat resistant. It doesn’t stop there, go ahead and place a lemon on your quartzite overnight, you won’t wake to etching caused by acids.
Quartzite is one of the top choices you will have for countertop materials. While its hardness may make the fabrication take a bit longer, its high-quality looks and durability are worth the time and budget. Innovative designers are using quartzite for kitchen and bathroom countertops, back splashes and a variety of spaces needing a beautiful, long-lasting surface.
Quartzite Kitchen Countertops Care
Caring for your quartzite is relatively easy. We recommend cleaning your countertop regularly with a gentle cleanser, warm water and a soft towel.
Sealing Quartzite Kitchen Countertops
All StoneMark Quartzite countertops receive a 15-year sealer that protects against untimely spills and splashes. Like any surface, wipe up spills as quickly as possible, use coasters and cooling racks and be sure to use a cutting board so you don’t dull your knives.
I am just thrilled with my counters!!! Everyone was just a pleasure to work with and the insulation was top notch. I truly am giddy with how they look. The price was good, the service was excellent and I will be giving them more business.
